Team members will respectfully engage with their teammates, team leaders, costa rica coordinators & pastors. Individuals will be able to integrate into the daily life of their Costa rica host family and enjoy the community of the mountainous village of colonia libertad while serving and getting to know the children, women and youth.Team members will form relationships with those in another culture which helps to understand the diversity of humanity in our world while striving to live in mutuality.  Listening respectfully to the testimonies and stories of the coordinators and host families and participating in a local church worship service.  

Team members will meaningfully engage with the Costa rica guanacaste community by learning typical dances for competition and fiestas and “bombas” (a bomba is similar to a limerick and is typically made up of four rhyming lines. Some have been passed down from generation to generation, that express daily aspects of life in guanacaste); eating a variety of local food and fruits; understanding what it means to be an environmentally conscious business person and exporter of local products such a cocoa and coffee; learning about the creation of hand made pottery from local artisans of the chorotega indigenous peoples group in nicoya; and enjoying the biodiversity of the flora and fauna of god’s creation in Costa Rica.
