About of Hands of Love Foundation
Hands of Love Foundation is currently working in the Northern province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, in a small mountainous village called Colonia Libertad. We work alongside the Manos de Amor Canada Association in Costa Rica. We desire to bring hope, healing, and the love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to surrounding communities.
Our Ministries
Costa Rica - Community Centre
We are delighted to share that, thanks to the generosity of our donors and the success of our first fundraiser, the foundation has acquired five acres of land which features a peaceful babbling brook in Colonia Libertad. This land marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter: the creation of a recreation centre and community greenhouse that will become a vibrant hub for connection, growth, and lasting transformation.
On this special land, participants will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature and local biodiversity, grow deeper in faith and discipleship, practice servant leadership, develop strong Christian character, and build meaningful, lasting relationships.
We warmly invite individuals and teams to come with open hearts—ready to learn, serve, and be transformed. This will be a space where God’s presence is deeply felt, and every encounter fosters spiritual growth and fresh perspectives.
Once the building is completed, the Centre will offer children and youth programs, classes, gardening projects, Bible studies, and much more. It is not just about what we do, it is about how we grow together in faith and community.
Join us in this inspiring journey to build not just a place, but a thriving, faith-filled community centre..
Local Vancouver Ministry
Beginning the first Sunday of April 2025, we warmly invite newcomers and anyone interested in learning more about settling into life in Vancouver to join us for bi-weekly garden parties.
Our hope is to create a welcoming space where connection and community can flourish. Together, we’ll share experiences, learn from one another, and navigate the challenges of making a new home — all within a safe and supportive environment.
We’ll break bread, share meals, sing songs of hope, and lift our hearts in prayer. This time together is designed to help everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. It’s a special opportunity to celebrate life, build friendships, and walk alongside one another in the spirit of Christ’s love.
Join us as we grow in community and faith — all are welcome!
Stay tuned for more information about what we will be doing in the fall.
Testimonials
In January 2025, we went on an Intercultural Learning Trip with our high school, Vancouver Christian School and Hands of Love Foundation. We had many powerful encounters, especially during prayer, worship, and listening to testimonies.
Despite the language barrier, we felt the passion and presence of the Holy Spirit in every prayer. The worship was beautiful, and the sense of community was clear. Everyone knew the songs by heart and sang freely, not concerned about how they sounded.
The service was scheduled to end in an hour, but as many of the past Costa Rica team members knew, it went on well past 10 p.m. In contrast to the rushed, strict schedules we are used to in Vancouver, the Ticos were open to letting the Holy Spirit move without time constraints. This made the experience even more powerful.
During our time worshiping with the youth, they made us t-shirts, and I, Alessandria, had the opportunity to share my testimony. Though I was nervous and could not speak Spanish, I felt a wave of peace as I stepped onto the stage. The warmth and support from the congregation made me feel welcome and encouraged. I am not sure if my testimony resonated with others, but I hoped it helped someone encounter God.
The service ended with a prayer from our host mom, and though I only understood a few words, the emotion and love were clear. Even without full translation, we felt the depth of the prayers, marked by tears and strong embraces. This experience showed us that love and faith transcend language.

"Help Us Build Our Community Centre –
We Need Your Support!"
We’re excited to get started, but we need your help! Funds are needed to purchase essential building supplies and fencing to make our shared space safe and welcoming. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a stronger, connected community. Let’s build this together!
We are trusting God for $150,000 or more to provide essential building supplies, skilled labour, and secure fencing for our community center. This project is more than construction—it is a step of faith to create a space where lives will be transformed and the love of Christ made known. We invite you to join us in prayer, faith, and generosity as we build for His glory.
